8-17-09 HEALING HANDS BIBLE SCHOOL

We had a great week at the Healing Hands Bible School.  Don taught on Old Testament Survey I and the Gospel of John.  I taught on Ministry unto the Lord and Praise Life. Our friend, Pastor Rodwell, taught the New Testament Survey and The Life of Christ.

I love teaching in the school.  When we teach, and get into the Word, the Lord begins to show us things we never saw before.  It's amazing how alive and vibrant God's Word is.

Here are students in class, worshiping, studying and having great fellowship together.

Jerome, (shown worshiping on the right) one of the students at the school, has a burden and calling to reach the people of Venezuela.

As I write this post, he and his family are traveling 1-1/2 days one way, using a boat with a 5 hp engine to minister at Venezuelan border villages. They will travel not only through the many Interior Rivers, but they'll cross a portion of the Atlantic Ocean as well.

Jerome has 5 children.  He will leave the two older children at home to take care of things, and travel with his wife and the 3 younger children.  This is not an easy trip. On the last trip, they were rained on and had only rice and peas to eat.  He had no rain gear and ended up giving away much of the food he had brought with him.

On this trip he is taking clothing, food and the Gospel to the poor and needy. He told us that on his last trip he ministered to a lady that had never heard the name of Jesus.

We are praying for Jerome and his family for safety and good success.  We gave him our rain gear, a blanket, and flashlights along with other items to make the trip easier.  Please remember this family in your prayers. They are totally sold out for the cause of Christ.
