8-23-09 INTRODUCING GOOD NEWS CLUB

On Sunday we had an introductory meeting for Child Evangelism Fellowship.  We had 10 ladies attend this meeting to get information on starting after school Good News Clubs for children.  We were very encouraged at the interest and enthusiasm that they showed.  Our friend, Veda Ram,  Director of CEF for Guyana, and her assistant Maggie, came and stayed with us for the weekend and lead the meeting on Sunday afternoon.


There really is nothing in this area for children to be involved in other than church on Sundays.  The enthusiasm for starting something here in the Essequibo Coast of Guyana was very encouraging.  Participants agreed to attend another meeting on September 19th where we hope to get more of the Pastors to come and get involved in supporting this program.


We already have eight of the participants signed up for a two week training session planned for early next year. The "Teaching Children Effectively"training is a great program that will benefit the churches and children of Guyana with neighborhood clubs that will win children to our Lord and encourage the newly converted child.


It is our prayer that God will provide the $35 tuition for each person who registers for the training. This will be an investment for the future of Guyana.
