Radiation Days
We started this week staying at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital Hometel. It's been a blessing to have a place to stay not having to drive the distance each day back and forth to Tracy or Modesto.
The rooms are close to the hospital and Don's appointments. Yesterday he had 3 different doctor appointment in one day.
Each morning we take a shuttle to Stanford Medical Center where Don gets his radiation treatments.
Ever wonder what radiation looks like?
First, Don is fitten with a face mask that keeps his head perfectly still, and is positioned for the radiation. Much care is given that he is in perfect alignment. Everything is extremely detailed and monitored on several screens.
Preparation for radiation is about 20 minutes. Actual radiation last about 3 minutes.
Don has the best radiologist and doctors in the nation. We thank God for giving us the best just because He is the best and we're His kids!
