February Update

Hello Partners,
WOW – only 2 and 1/2  weeks before we leave for Guyana. Maria and I are really excited about getting back there to see our friends there and meet new ones also.  Pray for our protection as we travel there and back.  We will also be going into interior villages, which means traveling the rivers in speedboats.
There are 6 others going along. From Soul Harvest Worship Center, Pastors Mitch and Dana Waller, Pastors Verna Brown and Simone Benoit will bring their anointed worship and preaching. Children’s Pastor Simone, will be ministering to the children as well.  Joel and Annalisa Jones,
ex R & B singers from Hilltop Community Church in Richmond will be ministering in gospel music.  The Word of God and Worship will be taken on the streets, to churches, schools, and an out door crusades.  Each person coming has a God given gift that will touch souls for the Kingdom.  We are soooo excited!

God has provided for us to take 20 water filters to place in various villages and homes – thank you Jesus! The filters will provide clean drinking water for those that now drink rainwater in the rainy season and pond water the other 8 months of the year.  Many get sick and some have died drinking from their current water supply.  Each filter will provide water for up to 100 persons per day and will last for 1,000,000 gallons. We are still working on getting some more solar powered Bibles.  Many cannot read or write and a solar audio Bible would be a great blessing to them.

We are also taking clothing for children that live deep in the interior bush and for some who live on the rivers in Venezuela.  God has blessed us with several people that have donated money and clothing to make this all possible.  One man even gave us his guitar to take and bless someone with.  Guyanese people love their music and worship!
As we prepare to leave, please pray for smooth traveling, especially getting through customs etc., protection and safety traveling by boats into the Interior bush areas, God’s favor and grace, and open hearts that will receive our Lord and the truth of the Gospel.

Children's Pastor, Simone

The Bible has much to say about giving to the poor and that is what you are doing when you so generously and faithfully give of your money and your prayers for this ministry.   Your part is vital to us – again this month, Maria and I thank you very much.  II Corinthians 9:7-8

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” Luke 4:18.
Blessings to you all, in the name of Jesus,
Don and Maria Whitney
