Christmas in Battambang

Being on the Mission Field during the Christmas Holiday season can at times make you feel sad and lonely for those loved ones back home in the states.  We do miss our family a lot.  But when we're around the children at Sunbeam Kid's Orphanage we're reminded that these kids don't even have families other than their caretakers.  Being around them and seeing them reach out for love and affirmation reminds us of why we are here.

Christmas time was memorable as we gathered together at a local restaurant with about 40 kids and 10 adults.  I parked the car and behind us were two Tuk Tuk's full of children.  Wonderful little and big boys and girls all in awe of their night out in town for a restaurant dinner.

After dinner we all went to Jerry and Wilma Mishler's home where I told the Christmas story with the help of the girls using the flannel graph figures.  We sang Christmas Carols, opened gifts and had cake and ice cream.
