Champion's Bible Training Center

As I write this update, here in Guyana it is pouring rain.  Many of our students live away from the main road which gives access to taxi's and Van Busses.  While we need the rain, on school days, we ask God to keep it dry for the students to come to school.

For most it is difficult to come to class in the rain because they have to walk through muddy roads to access transportation on the main road.  Others, simply cannot afford the 50 cents to travel the bus each way.  One of our students has a truck and helps to bring the students in when he's not working at his business in the Interior.  When he's not available, those who can will take the bus others will ride their bikes the 5 miles to class.

Orlita, is one of our students who lives in Charity.  She is seen here standing in front of her home.  Most of our students live in this neighborhood.

We're doing our best to supplement transportation by making arrangements with one of the local bus drivers to pick up students and take them home after class, however, it is costing us an extra $100 a month.  The bus works well but it's a 15 passenger van/bus and there are about 20 people getting in it each Tuesday and Thursday. Without a way to transport more people there can be no more growth.

The solution seems to be to purchase what they call a canter, which will carry about 30 – 35 students.   We can get a used canter for about $9,500.00.  We do have a car that we can sell and put toward the purchase of a canter, but would still be short about $7,000.00.   The class has joined us in believing God to provide for this need.

Inspite of the challenges, the students at our Champion Bible Training Center continue to grow spiritually and in their knowledge of the Word.

P.S.   Highlight of my day...got to lead one of our younger students to the Lord.  God is so good!
