Good News Club - Success

After 8 weekends of training with Child Evangelism Fellowship, we began the process of starting our own Good News Club here in our Village of Better Hope.
Last Tuesday we went out in the rain to pass out our invitations which were attached to a balloon that had a surprise candy inside.
I worked on our song posters to make them colorful and fun when we sang. Don played the guitar as we led the children singing.
Shoba, a member of our team, helped with the decorations and taught the Bible Story which included the message of salvation.

Tina, the other team member, made up the sign for the gate
and worked on the memory verse presentation and memory games.
Don played the guitar as we sang songs. We have a great team and I feel privileged to have these two great young ladies and my wonderful husband to work with in this ministry. By the way, Don also built bookshelves to keep all our supplies in.

With this being our very first club meeting, we were rejoicing that 8 children gave their hearts to the Lord! Our home is in a rice farming community where the houses are spread apart, thus not too many families are living close by so we were pleased with the turnout of 20 kids.
While we're happy about our first club meeting, we're still hoping that the others 16 people trained will soon be starting their meetings as well. We would like to see at least 10 GoodNews Clubs started this year on our side of the Essequibo River. These clubs are all about evangelism and what a better way to start evangelizing than with the children.
Thank you Jesus
for your awesome power, favor and love!

P.S. We just met one of the other club leaders this morning, while attending church in the nearby Village of Charity. She had joined with another Pastor's wife, from our training classes, and held their first meeting on Wednesday. Charity is a more populated area, and although it rained like crazy here that day, their club had 35 children attending and 18 salvations. God is so awesome!!! This club will also be meeting on a weekly basis. Imagine what can happen if 10 clubs were going on in the various villages each week!!!!!
