Cambodia part II

VISITING WITH THE CHILDREN

Another aspect of our trip to Cambodia was the children.  A favorite time for me.  They were curious and interested in everything we said and did. They didn't know our language, but tried really hard to understand us and mimicked everything.

They were fascinated by seeing themselves in the camera, and loved getting their pictures taken.  We soon became best buddies.
One little girl seemed to be the leader.  She was a little older than the rest, but she learn very quickly the songs I was teaching and soon she was teaching the others, watching me to make sure she was saying the words right and following my gestures.

This is a very poor farming community.  They mostly farmed rice along with the many fruit producing trees that can be sold at little wooden stands in front of their bamboo homes. Some of the children go to school others help on the farm or take care of the younger ones while their parents work in the rice fields.

This pictures shows some of the children that came up to us right after we arrived.  They weren't too sure of these two white Americans.  They had never seen anyone quite like us before, but soon we were all singing and playing and learning about Jesus together.
