Sunbeam Sisters

I am honored to teach and work with 9 awesome young ladies from Sunbeam Kid's Orphanage Intl.  Our Bible club is called, "Sunbeam Sisters" and we meet every Sunday afternoon.  These girls all come from various backgrounds with various needs.  Those that have been there more than 5 years seem to have a solid relationship and understanding of God and the gift of salvation.  Jerry and Wilma Mishler have done a great job seeing that they are taught about the love of God.  But there are times when new girls come in, and some who have been around for a while suddenly have to leave. The orphanage must abide by the rules and terms set by Social Services. Most do not have parents but do have other family members. These family members will often promise to care for the children and keep them in school.  Because family ties are strong, the child is given to the family member who requested them. Unfortunately, promises are rarely kept. You later find the girls in poor circumstances, out of school and working to bring money in for the family.   Many times it's heartbreaking when we followup on their progress.

Therefore, while they are with us we must pour into their lives as much as we can to strengthen their relationship with their Father in Heaven. Teaching them how precious, valuable and loved they are.

Currently we are studying and growing in the knowledge of the Fruit of the Spirit.  It's taking several weeks but I want to cover each area thoroughly and help them to apply the Word as well as see it and hear it.

Ponleu, my helper interprets for me and together we teach pray and have fun times with the girls.
