Visit to Army Base

Through On The Frontline Ministries, we had the honor of addressing and bringing teaching to soldiers camped in an Army base about 3 hours from Battambang where we live.  Before coming we were told that there would be approximately 300 soldiers in the meeting and although many were believers, the majority of them were not.  Just before we came there was a land skirmish at the Thailand border, and about 200+ soldiers had to leave to the border towns to settle and calm the situation there.  Had the issue escalated, we would have had to cancel the meeting.

As it was, there were 50 to 60 men at the camp that were waiting for us to arrive and eager to hear the Word of God. Many of these men have heard the message of the Good News of Christ and have responded, however, they have not had followup teaching in the Word. This is a high security camp and few are invited to come into the camp.  While we did not have the opportunity for one on one ministry, we know they were touched by the power of God's Word.

We were greeted by the Two Star General that runs the entire camp.  He welcomed us very graciously and all the soldiers seemed happy to see us. While most of the soldiers that had remained were already believers, there were a few that were not, and they got to hear the gospel message as well as a teaching Don gave on, The Character of a Believer.  I also gave a short teaching on Commitment and Faithfulness, which we were told, was very much needed.

We had lunch with the staff and pastors from "On The Front Line Ministries", who came from surrounding areas to join us along with some visiting missionaries.  Later we took several pictures and joined the General on a tour of the facilities.  (Totally a "Guy" thang)
