Excerpts from Lotus House/Why Not Now
Ministries, News letter
We continue to see tremendous favor in Viet Nam.
Our friends, Don and Maria Whitney (picture of them below), are doing an
amazing job of making contacts, building relationships and establishing a
Kingdom influence not only in the community of our land, but also in Ho Chi
Minh city. Within one to two months
we should have our initial permits approved and will be able to begin acquiring
permits for building our first children’s home. The government knows we are
there to help children and are very happy that we are. Their main concern is
our safety since we are Americans. They don’t want to get into trouble with our
Embassy if anything were to happen to us.
The Whitney’s, along with the help of a new
friend, are making gifts for the neighbors to give away at a cultural event
taking place in January for their New Year. As you might imagine, living in
another country with another language can be extremely challenging. We have a
gift sent from Heaven in a girl in her twenties that felt called to come stay
with Don and Maria on the property. She has been educated in English and is
fluent in both languages. They said they could not imagine life without her
there, especially during the initial first few weeks.
They also have another new friend that is a
successful business lady. She has a car and her own driver which is not all
that common over there. She has been extremely generous offering her driver to
deliver supplies to the Whitney’s when needed. That is a four hour drive each
way. Bottom line
is; ABUNDANT FAVOR!
Starting family homes in another country is not an easy task.
Especially with the government system that is in place. I must say though, we
have felt honored and well received by the authorities there to this point.
Something other friends in ministry are amazed at that having had experiences
there in the past. We are not surprised, since we are confident that Holy
Spirit has put His stamp of approval on this dream and mandate. It does take
time and there are many expenses in the process. I am anxious to start
receiving the children and sometimes wish I could just snap a finger and be
done with all the preliminary details. However, I know there are lessons,
victories and celebrations that are to be discovered in the process.
Financially, the permits to be allowed to house the children will cost about $2,500. There are many other costs in day to day operations, from hired help to property up keep and repairs. Please continue to pray and agree for favor and prosperity in all the endeavors associated with The Lotus House and Why Not Now Ministries. I am totally stirred deep inside that we are on the verge of making history. I sense that this is the beginning of something huge. Our desire is to influence nations and the best way I know is from the inside out. As we raise up these abused, rejected and abandoned treasures; they will then be released with The Good News to their nation.

This excerpt from Mark Neitz newsletter tells a
bit better what and why we are here and how things have been progressing. It has been slow, especially for us,
since we’re used to getting in and getting going. However, God has us on hold for the moment so we're enjoying the nice weather and surroundings. Perfect for spending quality time with the Lord.
While we have met some very wonderful and sweet
people, without an interpreter it is very hard to communicate. Don and I are studying the language
each night, after giving English lessons to some of the neighboring children, but they seem to learn much faster than
we do at our age.
This government and it’s laws are very different than what we are used to in America. Everything does take time but it would seem that the fact that we are here on the land is pushing things further along than if no one were here yet. Favor seems to be something that we continue to walk in and we're grateful for it, and all your prayers for us as well.
